Korean singer Ailee, known for her powerful vocals, has surprised her Filipino fans with her own rendition of OPM song ‘Kahit Isang Saglit’, collaborating with the Filipino-American musical director Troy Laureta.
The piece, which was popularized by Martin Nievera, and originally worked on by composers Louie Ocampo and penned by Alan Peter Ayque, was revitalized with a soulful arrangement featuring piano and strings, evoking a powerful ballad as a result.
Ailee’s pronunciation of Tagalog words was well-praised by fans, with Ailee saying that she sought the help of her ‘Kaibigan’ Carlo De Guzman, which is currently based in South Korea, to aid her with the pronunciations. On an Instagram post, Ailee said she never thought that she would be singing in Tagalog.

The release was part of Laureta’s just-released album ‘Kaibigan: A Troy Laureta OPM Collective’, which also features more world-renowned artists such as Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls, Matt Bloyd and more singing OPM songs.
Ailee also noted that she and Laureta have collaborated together through video call, since Laureta is in the US, and Ailee is in South Korea.
Laureta, on the other hand, has worked on with multiple high-profile artists, such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and more. -HallyuLife.com
