MANILA – Online shopping platform Shopee Philippines has maintained its position that a system glitch was the culprit behind its revocation of some 119 tickets for Shopee x BLACKPINK meet-and-greet event last June 6, and not a change in its promo mechanics.
Shopee has released its statement to the media saying that an internal system error caused inaccuracies in their automatically generated winner list, and as a result, they have to revoke those 119 tickets that they deemed ‘wrongly issued’.

The online shopping platform also asserted that unlike the fans’ accusations, they did not revoke tickets for the sake of celebrities and influencers.
Hashtag #ShopeeScam trended worldwide on June 6, when the event happened, as a result of fans’ dismay on how Shopee has handled the supposed BLACKPINK meet-and-greet event.
Shopee is currently working with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to give a full refund to the affected 119 users, including the costs incurred to be part of the event, as a token of goodwill. -HallyuLife.com
